Dear Sweet Baby Carter,
I'm failing miserably in keeping up with your baby book, marking down first events, and writing you letters like I promised myself I would. Instead, I'm soaking you up, kissing your neck which makes you giggle, and hugging you more times than I can count.
I love the way you say "momma" and come to me with both arms up as your happier in my arms than walking beside me. I love how when I hold you, you bend your little arm around mine to hold on better. You point to everything around you, which can be frustrating when I'm trying to do something like pour a glass of milk, but you're so curious about everything you want to investigate it all. I don't blame you and I love how much you want to learn.
You love your giraffe headed blanket we call Lovie and you have started to dance so much. It's just adorable. You have many words and you say them now and again but when you want to learn a new word you stare at my face, watch my mouth and try to say it yourself. It's so amazing.
You are amazing and I cannot believe you once lived in my belly. Growing and changing into the baby boy you are today.
I love you more than you'll ever know. Even though you'll be 16 months in 4 short days you'll always be my baby.
Love you,
Momma

The First Ultrasound -7w2d
Dear Bug,
I was so nervous for this day. I counted down in my mind and I had excitement and fear in my heart. I was terrified that things wouldn't work out the way we wanted them to simply because I can't seem to let go of what I know of other people's experiences. I need to just let go of that and focus on our experience with you.
We got up early as our appointment was at 6:15 am. As I was driving I just couldn't wait to get there. I wanted to see you on the screen so badly. We got there about 2 minutes late but there wasn't even anyone there yet, so that made me feel a bit better. I hate being late and your dad always tries to do a bunch of things before he leaves causing him to be a tad late.
Once we got in there I signed in on the sheet and we waited for her to call us back. We didn't wait any longer than a minute. We were in the room and I got myself ready on the table and the tech came back in and we began.
As soon as she got started we saw you on the screen with your heart beat flickering so strong and quickly on the screen. It was the best thing I've ever seen. I looked over at your Dad and he had this look of amazement on his face. We both smiled so big. The tech took some measurements and you turned out to be a day ahead of what we have you at. We'll see what happens with the future appointments.
You are beautiful and I can't wait to watch you grow. I am going to give you all that you need to be strong and healthy because we want you so badly and we love you so much already.
Love,
Mommy

Telling my Mom's side of the family
Happy Easter!
Today we made the drive to Portsmouth to have lunch with Sarah, Allen, Uncle David, Aunt Joan, Grenny and my parents. We were excited to see them all because it had been since Christmas but also because we were going to share the news that we are pregnant!
I put together little Easter eggs (I will post a picture soon) with candy and a slip of paper that read "Our excitement can't be matched, for in November a new Moreau will hatch."
I handed out the eggs after dinner while everyone was hanging out talking and I had previously set up my camera on a tripod so I could catch it all on video. I asked them to go ahead and open it up. It was fun watching them read the slips of paper and their different gasps and faces as they realized what was happening!
I just love sharing the joy!

7 weeks
How far along: 7 weeks
How big is Baby: The size of a blueberry
Maternity Clothes: This week I broke down and bought 2 Belly Bands- one white and one black. While I was at the store I also saw some maternity underwear that said they were good for before, during or after pregnancy. I've been much more comfortable the past few days!
Sleep:Some days I pass out by 7:30 on the couch, other times I feel more awake. I find myself getting up a few times and having a few weird dreams in between times getting up which leaves me feeling exhausted in the morning.
Movement: Not for awhile.
Food cravings: Cheese, salad with balsamic vinegrette, I've noticed that my appetite isn't as big as it was last week. Once I eat I feel full longer and I can't seem to find foods to satisfy my taste buds.
Food aversions: sweets, spaghetti, garlic
Gender: Won't know for awhile
Symptoms: I feel like the symptoms are coming and going and it's weird because I'd like to be constant, just because that would give me reassurance day after day. I have heartburn but that comes and goes, fatigue and bloat seem to be the biggest ones. At night I feel cramping and stretching in my uterus
What do I miss: Nothing at all.
Best moment this week: Buying maternity items... it just made me happy
What I am looking forward to: tomorrow- where we'll share with some family members and Monday where we'll have our first u/s

Heartburn
Last night I had a major case of heart burn. I noticed it during the day slightly after eating but after dinner last night it was pretty steady and strong. I had some TUMs but that didn't seem to do the trick. It was crazy but also exciting because I like anything that reminds me that you're growing Bug.
I went and bought a BellyBand today to try and keep my pants up. I'm at the stage where the button can't button comfortably and I'm just so bloated. I'm hoping this helps me feel better.

Love
Dear Bug,
You are more loved than you will ever know. I can't even begin to tell you how excited people are when they find out about you. Everyone is so excited.
Bring on the sickness and the side effects baby bug, I don't care. I just want to know you're in there.
Love Mommy

6 Weeks
How far along: 6 weeks
How big Is baby: the size of a lentil bean
Maternity Clothes: Not buying true maternity just yet, but definitely buying shirts that are more loose fitting and pants that are kind of stretchy and giving the waistline!
Sleep: I pass out when my head hits the pillow, but then I'm up around midnight to pee and tossing and turning around 4am. I'm a sleepy lady these days.
Movement: Not for awhile.
Food Cravings: cucumbers, green olives, buffalo wings, salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing
Food Aversions: anything sweet makes me gag and carbs like granola bars or muffins
Gender: I don't know. I go back and forth with boy and girl. Part of me thinks we have two in there...
Symptoms: constipation- yay! Breast tenderness like whoa, thirst, bloat, fatigue, easily winded, hunger
What do I miss: nothing. I'm totally happy!
Best moment this week: hearing our 3rd beta number be so high telling our parents and siblings!
What I am looking forward to: Our first ultrasound on April 9 and my last PIO shot tonight
