Telling His Family
We had planned on having dinner with Jarod's family for a belated birthday celebration so we figured this would be a great time to tell them. We got there around 6 and I was already wiped. I could have fallen asleep right there.
We ordered our dinner- pizza and salad and Jarod swung by to pick up the food. When he got back we all chowed down. I was waiting and waiting for him to spill the beans, but he just didn't! I playing with Chase and Cora and hanging out and it was time for my nightly shot. We pulled out all the stuff and started putting it together. It was funny seeing Jacob's face at the size of the needle. Apparently he hates shots!
We went upstairs and when we came back down I joked about how it was so much better than when we had to do a shot at the bowling alley last weekend! They all laughed and Jacob asked when we'd find out some news, I replied slowly with soon... while looking at Jarod waiting for him to react and share the news but he didn't... then I looked at Jacob and back to Jarod and he said we already did find out... we're pregnant. They all responded with 'No way" "no, really?" then the tears came. Everyone was surprised and happy and in shock. It makes me so happy to see others so happy! Jarod's mom was crying and hugging us and we were all smiling. I told them it would be late November when we'd meet this little bug but that we couldn't wait.
I could see relief on Jarod's face after telling them. Later he told me he was nervous to share. I totally understand because I felt that way the other day.

Telling My Parents
We went out for breakfast this morning with my parents so we could tell them the news. I was so excited but so nervous at the same time. The whole entire meal I wanted to blurt it out but then my heart would start pounding in my ears and I couldn't speak. It was so weird. Why did I feel like I couldn't say it? Would it mean that it would be taken away? I don't know...
Finally, as we finished up our meals I told my parents that we were thinking about how they mentioned they might go to Texas for Christmas and that they might want to stay home to be with their grand baby. Their heads shot up and they just stared at me. My mom leaned over and hugged me hard. My dad just looked shocked.
We told them how far we were and what the EDD is and finished paying for the meal. I think they were still shocked. When we left we hugged and laughed and smiled and hugged some more.
My mom and I went off to get our pedicures and we did a little bit of shopping to celebrate. It was a great moment!

Telling My Sister
I couldn't wait any longer to tell my sister. I texted her mid afternoon to find out what she was doing. She texted right back and I figured this was the moment to do it. I took a picture of the word Pregnant on that morning's test and sent it to her.
My heart was pounding as I waited for her response.... I waited, and waited and fell asleep waiting. I was getting worried. So about 25 minutes later I called her. She was screaming in excitement. I guess she was driving so she couldn't text back the way she wanted to. She was so happy and couldn't believe it.
I love calling her Auntie now and love when she calls me preggo sister!

Beta #2
I went in this morning for the second blood test. I got the call during the day at school and my numbers went up to 193! Yay! The little bug is growing!
I am to continue my 2 pills a day and the progesterone shots at night. I go back Monday March 26 for my 3rd test. That seems like FOREVER away!
It was so hard to concentrate on anything at work!

Beta Day
I woke up around 5:30 to change and make myself look somewhat presentable before heading to the Bedford office for my blood work. It was cold but lighter out than I've been used to in the morning, so that was nice. I drove listening to my Adele cd blasting it up and pretending that I'm just as good a singer as she. I was happy to see my usual nurse, Cathy, there. It's been a little while since I've seen her. I was in and out in no more than 10 minutes. I headed home wondering what would become of the blood she just took out of my arm.
Once home I snuggled up in bed with Jarod and Daisy. It's Jarod's birthday so we took advantage of sleeping in! We got up and had some breakfast and around 11 am we got a call. Usually they call my cell phone but they called the house and Jarod picked up. I was nervous when he didn't say much and then he handed the phone to me. The nurse had a cheery voice as she told me congrats- you're pregnant! The beta was 79. They like to see numbers around 50. OMG! We're pregnant! An instant smile came over my face and I could barely pay attention to what she was saying to me. All I knew was I was pregnant and I had to go back for a second blood test on Monday.
I hung up and Jarod and I hugged in tears. We couldn't believe this worked and we heard that one word we've been wanting to hear for so long: pregnant!
We went out to TGIFridays for lunch to celebrate and watch the Bruins. We had to drive to Manchester to pick up some more syringes because we have to continue my shots and we ran out. Later on that night we met up with friends and his brothers for pizza and bowling. It was so hard to not blurt out the amazing news we heard that morning!
Happy Birthday Daddy!

3 more sticks later
The second line is a little bit darker than yesterday. It still doesn't seem like this could be real. I can't believe this! We could be pregnant!!!
I showed Jarod and he didn't know what to think. We haven't talked about it because I think we don't want want to scare it away!

I peed on a stick...
and I saw a faint line.
oh my.
I've never seen any line of any sort. They are usually stark white and I'm pretty sure they mock me every month.
23 months of this and I finally saw a second line show up.
Holy crap.
We have our blood test on Saturday. I can't wait to see what comes back...

We love you already
Dear Bug,
We can't believe that we got to meet to you today. The doctors gave us your picture and we've kissed it many times since then. Watching them place you in my uterus was just amazing. We hope you stick around and grow and thrive because we love you already.
love,
M&D
